Be There

Your presence is needed.
For your family. For your community. For Israel. For the Jewish people.

knowledge l guidance l personal service

A planned gift to the Lehigh Valley Jewish Foundation (LVJF) enables you to be present forever. Whether your gift is used to provide for the needs of the Jewish poor, to assist the elderly, to rescue Jews in need around the world, or to fight anti-Semitism - no matter where or when in the future, you can be there to help.

Honoring the values of tzedakah and tikkun olam, the LVJF is dedicated to creating permanent resources to meet the challenges and needs of the Jewish community. It educates individuals, families and its affiliates on the rewards of philanthropy and facilitates the philanthropic process through planned giving and endowments. Foundation grants and distributions serve the needs of the Lehigh Valley, the United States, Israel and nations worldwide. Donors partnering with the LVJF and the Federation and our beneficiary agencies can achieve their philanthropic goals and create their legacy for future generations.

The LVJF strives to build and support our Jewish community, helping to meet the needs of today and tomorrow. Our primary goal continues to be to help every local Jewish institution preserve and protect endowment assets for the future. The LVJF provides services to our local Jewish agencies and works one-on-one with donors and professional advisors.

History
LVJF was established in 1972 to hold endowment assets, assets from which earnings would be distributed annually in support of the Annual Campaign and the Federation's family of agencies. The leadership of the LVJF determined that more funds could be raised if its beneficiary agencies and local synagogues could set up their own segregated endowment funds under the Lehigh Valley Jewish Foundation umbrella.

Today's Foundation

Despite tough economic times, the Lehigh Valley Jewish Foundation remains strong with a total value of over $16 million. Last fiscal year, the LVJF distributed $568,039 for the benefit of Jewish and non-Jewish causes throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond. It is important to remember that endowments are critical to help our agencies, synagogues and other local Jewish organizations continue to provide much needed services and programming that will ensure the continuity of vibrant Jewish life in our community. With the help of dedicated and responsible leadership, prudent investment management and ongoing generosity of committed donors, the LVJF is poised to support our Jewish community for generations to come.”

A light unto the future

Lion of Judah Endowments are just one way you can create a lasting legacy for the future. When a woman endows her campaign gift, a flame is added to her Lion of Judah pin -- as a light unto the future.

The Lehigh Valley Jewish Foundation provides you with many opportunities to meet your philanthropic goals. We'd be happy to discuss them and assist you in your planned giving and charitable decision making to see what best meets your needs and those of our community.
